PROPELLER MOUNTED SYSTEMS

Our propeller mounted systems are meant for medium to large vessels. They instantly cut lines and nets before they become entangled. This prevents aft seal rupture, resulting oil pollution and other costly damage to your vessel.

LINE CUTTERS FOR PROPELLER HUB SIZES FROM 12″ (300MM) AND LARGER

WE BUILD A STRONG RELATIONSHIP AT ALL THREE LEVELS

WHEN RELIABILITY MATTERS

SPURS Line Cutter Systems have been protecting vessels from costly propeller
entanglement since 1981.
We work closely with the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, Canadian Coast Guard, RNLI
(English Coast Guard), and the Japanese Navy. Our products are installed on over
100,000 commercial and pleasure vessels worldwide.

ABOUT OUR CUTTER SYSTEMS.

SINCE THEN SPURS HAS SUCCESSFULLY BECOME THE #1 LINE AND NET CUTTER SYSTEM WORLDWIDE.
Spurs Cutter Systems are manufactured in our computerized machining facility and are continually updated with the latest technology. Spurs Cutter Systems are approved by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and protected by USA and International Patents.

SPURS DESIGN CONCEPT BEGAN WITH A DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THAT IS BASED ON OPPOSING ROTARY AND STATIONARY CUTTER BLADES AND THE WEDGE ACTION
This cutter assembly works in conjunction with the propellers rotation and it’s inertial force to power the cutting action. When a line is caught by the propeller blade, it is then wound down towards the propeller hub. The line is then picked up by the rotating cutter blades and carried around to the waiting stationary blade. The resistance sensed by the stationary cutter activates the cam wedge action that causes the stationary blade to be forced aft against the rotary blades. Lines and nets are then cut before entanglement occurs.

Worldwide navigation has been made safer for Coast Guards, Navy, commercial fishing boats, pleasure craft and vessels of all types and sizes when Spurs cutter systems are installed.

Spurs have been installed on over 100,000 vessels worldwide. Years of research and testing have resulted in a patented system that is reliable, durable and extremely effective.

Spurs Marine Manufacturing, Inc. was founded in 1981 and is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA.
